Isn't the matrimonial agency subject interesting? As the Beatles sing "Ah look at all those lonely people? Where do they all come from? Where do they all belong?".To my knowledge,this is the only FRench movie which deals with it.("agence matrimoniale ", Jean -Paul Le Chanois ,1952)

No longer;half a century afterwards , Jean -Pierre Mocky registered the same desire .And the beginning promised a riotously funny comedy ;the sadly missed Guillaume Depardieu could have been a perfect marriage guidance counsellor ,had he been give decent material to work with; his client ,a farmer looking for a wife who can run the place, cook , milk the cows, take care of the poultry , etc.
The beginning is effective but sadly , unlike works such as "dors ,mon lapin" or "le témoin" , the screenplay falls apart after a rather satisfying half an hour :all the men are sex maniacs ,all women are nymphomaniacs,and the gags become heavy-handed and repetitive .
We all pan the gags .
