Pretentious but engaging Spinelli feature
lor_14 October 2019
Top-notch filmmaker Anthony Spinelli made this mainly serious critique of the stereotypically egotistical film director, with Jon Dough suitably intense in the lead role.

He plays mind games with Jonathan Morgan, playing a naive young actor from Minnesota auditioning for a role in a major Hollywood movie. It's emphasized that we're in the big leagues, with Dough earning $3 million per picture, but the video still seems to be anchored in the world of porn, its main failing.

Femme cast headed by Kaitlyn Ashley and an ultra-overacting Kelly Royce as Dough's assistants is very attractive. Script by Spinelli's son Mitchell, is way over-the-top, including Dough quoting T.S. Eliot and James Joyce as well as spouting familiar Method Acting cliches.

Billed as "Mr. Anthony Spinelli", the director cannot resist starting the video with "Action please" voiced over and ending with "Cut".
