Starring vehicle for Will Fyffe
malcolmgsw7 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Will Fyffe plays a ships engineer who takes the blame for a crash and is sacked. He goes back to his village. However news of his disgrace gets back to his village and he is ostracized. He pals up with another seaman, played by director Ralph Once. They stowaway on a ship, and are put to work as stoker in the engine room.It turns out that two of the officers have been paid to smuggle a man into England. The officers knock out the Captain and arm themselves. The officers bring the crew in on the deal.Fudge and Once escape the ship only to be captured and tied up by natives on a tropical island. The chief turns out to be a Scot. This leads into a truly bizarre production number which includes bagpipes. However this turns out to be a dream after he has been knocked out by one of the mutineers. The mutineers plan to throw Fudge and Once overboard but can't as the navy pull into view. The mutineers try to change course but the pair turn off the boilers.Fudge hoists the distress flag and the navy send out a boat.Once stops one of the crooks shooting the other and the navy intervenes.Fudge recovers and returns a hero to his village.Basically a starring vehicle for Fudge which is quite entertaining.
