Before The « Decline of the American Empire» by Denys Arcands, there is this gem of a curious depravity of the «good people» of suburbia of North America as you would not see in a contemporary light, in English: it is blunt, close to trashy, yet still hold from bad taste by brilliant acting by what Quebec had best in term of acting, noticeable is actor directer Denise Filiatrault in what is probably her best performance on screen. Quite bold, still as I am writhing this more then 40 years lather. What should be a classic but is not as of yet, since it is not politically correct, not the image or at least, the side of human nature as we like to see it. Yet, quite fun to watch, it stays with you. For me it is one of the 10 best film ever from Canada, nothing less, since it is still fascinating to watch.
