A lot of words have already been written this week, and hopefully a lot more will be written in the next few weeks, months and years, about the great and beloved character actor Dick Miller, who passed away on January 30th in Burbank, California at age 90. A quick look at his bio page on IMDb will give you the basics about his early life— born in The Bronx, he served in the Us Navy and, despite his diminutive stature, even won a prize title as a middleweight boxer. But that’s not why several generations of movie fans know him, love him, or get such a kick out of seeing him pop up, sometimes seemingly out of nowhere, in the over-180 films and TV episodes in which he appeared.

We Are Movie Geeks has decided to take a look at the directing career of the man known as .King of the B.s’, a Hollywood legend who.s discovered so much talent and gave so many future directors and actors their starts, that he has to be considered a one-man movie industry. Chicago icon Stuart Gordon joins the Music Box Massacre 5 (Oct 10.) screening his Masters Of Horror episode, The Black Cat (starring Jeffrey Combs) which is a fictitious portrayal of Edgar Allan Poe spiraling into madness while writing the classic tale "The Black Cat." In addition, Gordon's Re-animator and From Beyond will be screened.
In addition to having Stuart appear - Chicago residents Tim Kazurinski (Saturday Night Live, Shakes the Clown) and Greg Holliman (Strangers with Candy) will be reading poetry selections from Edgar Allan Poe's work.
