Of course it's a far cry from "l'assassin habite au 21" and even from "le dernier des six"; the director is not Clouzot ,by a long shot .But the reader of SA Steeman -who appears in the movie, but his face being not famous, it's hard to spot him -and his private eye M. Wens can have a look .
The script is confused but there's a good unexpected twist at the end of the movie; not only M. Wens appears in the flesh but there's also the commissaire Malaise (the hero of "le mannequin assassiné ) who takes the lion's share , Wens being out of work a third through the movie .
It occurs in Shanghai where a businessman is threatened by a mysterious "green dragon" ;if he does not fork a hefty sum ,he will be killed on the night of the (ominous) 13th. Malaise investigates but the last word will be Wens's.
