Passable; not much more.
Hermit C-218 May 1999
Christy Canyon is featured on this video's box cover but that's deceptive; her one scene is brief and interrupted. A couple of minutes into the movie she's gone and is not seen again.

The story centers on a virtual reality phone-sex service, although the term "virtual reality" had not been coined when this film was made. (The system goes on the blink during Christy's scene, causing her to disappear.) If the action here is hit-or-miss, at least there is a fair amount of it. Tamara Longley and Harry Reems are a couple who know how to get down and dirty. Jade Nichols doesn't look like she's faking anything in her scene with Peter North. An unknown takes a pretty good turn with Blake Palmer. And Stevie Taylor will appeal to those who like women with a little meat on their bones.

Another winner from Bob Chinn

Benefitting from having been shot on film (after video had already encroached in the production arena), FANTASY UNLTD. has famed director Bob Chinn getting the most out of a game cast in a sex film with just a touch of futurism involved.

Team of Eric Edwards and underrated Josephine Carrington run a computer- driven service that permits clients over the phone to live out their sexual fantasies. How this works is left as something of a black box, but there are bugs and glitches in the program which cause the various twists in the episodic narrative.

Key through-line in the script is horny Eric's oft-expressed desire to get into his co-worker's panties, though she rebuffs him at every opportunity, leaving the door just slightly open to potential after-hours liaisons. The various clients who play out interesting fantasies include: Tamara Longley humping fire inspector Harry Reems in her kitchen; Goldie fantasizing making love to plumber Blake Palmer; Eric fancying himself a magician to hump a groupie backstage in the form of Bunny Bleu; plus a brief opening segment featuring Christy Canyon, a vignette of Peter North and his wife plus a fine turn as a fantasy nurse by Brit Stevie Taylor.

The climax has Pamela Jennings guesting quite effectively as a zoftig blonde who Eric contrives to be in a would-be three-way with Josephine and himself, but a glitch ends this before he can arrive. Film's literate script neatly conveys the message that all this fantasizing can't hold a candle to reality, when Eric finally becomes romantic and gets to bed Josephine for real, leading to a cute comical twist at the end. Considering the subsequent rise in popularity of computer gaming and now a rush toward "virtual reality" as the next big thing, this quaint video has some relevance still.
