Storyline
Plot Summary |
Toinet is a skipper who works with his good friend Girelle.Their friendship is steadfast and they often sing together under the Marseilles sun. The two fishermen are in love with two florist assistants:in order to impress them,they pass themselves off as wealthy industrialists ,sardines cannery millionaires ;as the girls do not want to be outdone by them,they claim to be movie stars .They learn that their suitors are not what they are supposed to be:infuriated by that imposture,they ask a wealthy old graybeard who woos them to order a huge quantity of canned sardines from the would be industrialists.
