Poignant documentary re: racism
applejuicekissez12 January 2000
I believe this was Ngozi's first film effort, but the quality of this piece is excellent. Coffee-Colored Children is an autobiographical portrayal of Ngozi's, and her brother's, sad welcome to the world where the color of your skin dictates the amount of respect & love you receive. Very stirring, a must see for all student filmmakers interested in the documentary genre, or anyone interested in expanding their awareness of the world around them and its issues. Ngozi's other films exploring more of the human condition are also well worth experiencing.
