Erotic sophistication
lor_2 December 2022
Lasse Braun's "Young Nympho" is a highly sophisticated movie about a swinging couple in '80s Manhattan, luring the title character Siobhan Hunter into their menage, ultimately leading to a quite amoral surprise ending I really enjoyed. What makes the movie a bit different is the attitude here, not a low-down approach but a high-toned European influence.

We see the couple, George Payne and an impressive Paula Meadows (a mature British actress) get kinkier and kinkier, with Paula trying out a bit of prostitution and then graduating to becoming a bad influence over Siobhan, latter working as a secretary for Paula's architect husband Payne. They go to a private sex club where Payne likes to watch, and with a cast of familiar NYC players and others, the movie escalates relentlessly to more and more open and free-wheeling sexuality.

This sort of eroticism is not much in favor anymore, but survives as a fine example of porno chic. Payne is well-cast as a fetishist, and both Paula and Siobhan give strong performances.
