The situation is extremely dramatic
deickemeyer24 May 2016
A very dramatic situation is developed in this film. The daughter of the clown it killed. The tragedy so works upon him that he retires. Later he sees a girl who bears a remarkable resemblance to his dead daughter. He invites her to his home and induces her to dress in his daughter's theatrical costume. The rush of memories caused by the resemblance influence him to such an extent that once more he performs his pantomime as he has done it many times before, but his heart cannot stand the strain and he dies in the strange girl's arms, half believing she was his daughter returned to life. The situation is extremely dramatic and makes a deep impression upon the audience. - The Moving Picture World, December 2, 1911
