La maison des lions review
JoeytheBrit2 July 2020
One of more than 600 shorts made by legendary French pioneer Louis Feuillade, this feels as if he was unexpectedly offered a few lions to work with and had to come up with a story fast. So we have a society matron who has her own private zoo inside her house, and a disgruntled employee who releases the lions after he is sacked for animal cruelty (which is shown onscreen) while Madame is entertaining party guests. Worth catching for the bizarre spectacle of Renee Carl in her party frock tackling one of the lions with a stool and cane.
