very fun 35mm short
JohnnyClay5 February 2000
An extremely entertaining short based on a mystery short story called "Child Support," Sportin' Dog is about a young father who makes a bet that his dog can catch 5 frisbee throws in a row. Very "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" in story line, the man, if successful, will walk away with his gambling debts erased and $100,000 in his pocket. If the dog fails to make the 5 catches, however, the bookie gets to take the father's daughter. With a strong cast and an eye-pleasing cinematic style, Sportin' Dog is worth checking out. From what I understand it is doing fairly well in the festival circuit right now.
