Divers face the danger of sharks and lethal levels of radiation to film warships destroyed in hydrogen bomb testing.

Few people under 70 years of age remember the hydrogen bomb testing that was carried out in the South Pacific Islands during World War II, such as the testing done at Bikini Atoll described in this film. Yet the resulting ecological effects of such governmental experimentation should be of concern to everyone. I believe that excellent films like Deadly Fathoms are important, not only to the history of American warfare, but also to the environmental history of our age. I find it hard to believe that such an excellent, award-winning film is not available to educators and to the general public. Is it possible that this 1973 film will become available on DVD?
