Singing Mice
boblipton24 October 2019
Edgar Kennedy invites his boss and friends to his house for a game of poker. He discovers that his wife, Vivian Tobin, has invited her ladies' club that evening. She promises they will be as quiet as mice.... until visiting lecturer Bud Jamison starts to lead them in group singing.

It's a fine entry in Kennedy's "Common Man" series for RKO. Miss Tobin played Edgar's wife in a lot of episodes, second only to Florence Lake. While Miss Lake came along with a mother, Dot Farley, and a brother-in-law, played by either William Eugene or Jack Rice, Miss Tobin came with a father, played by Billy Franey,. Franey, like Kennedy, was a long-time movie comic. His career, which encompassed more than 120 features and more than 300 short subject. He began working at Universal's "Joker" division in 1914. He died in 1940, only 51 years old.
