Garage Band Dudes hanging out
ethylester23 January 2004
I was astounded at the coolness of this short film. I saw it on Something Weird's "Teenage Turmoil" v.4 and I figured it would be just another "scare film" about screwing around. But boy was I excited to see some cool garage punk boys hanging out with each other and talking crap. They even play live!!! And it is fantastic, raw, lo-fi, rockin' music - my favorite!

If any of you know or like the Crypt Records series "Back From the Grave" or even the Nuggets or Pebbles series, you should totally get this video. Sure, you can see The Seeds play a couple songs on and old episode of Shindig or buy a live performance of ? and the Mysterians from '67, but you're never gonna see a documented, authentic, no-name 1966 garage band hanging out, practicing and making fun of each other in their fancy get-ups and sunglasses like you will in this film. They even have on polka dot shirts and one guy carries around his bass guitar while he smokes cigarettes and hangs out on the boardwalk with his dudes.

They're high school punks - they play rock music on the beach and in the garage. They stay up late and have sex in cars. They pick on each other and talk about girls. They all look super hot and they talk so cool!! Never have I been so amazed to find such an awesome short film dealing with the coolest kind of music that I've never seen on the screen! Man, these guys are cool. !!!!
