A tragic love story in the "Pampas"
gazineo-111 January 2002
Weak adaptation of a classic Brazilian novel by Erico Verissimo concerning the love relationship between a young, proud and beautiful farmer woman called "Ana Terra" (Ghessa) and an Indian called "Pedro" (Del Rey). The Terra family discovered the affair and the hell breaks loose. Good photograph of Brazil south landscape can't overcome a peasant script and bad dialogue. The two leads are correct although Del Rey, with his huge blue eyes, seems odd as an Indian. I give this a 5 (five).
