Paging the Thompson Twins

Warning: Spoilers
Sweet little Tintin is a Hong Kong schoolgirl who loves butterflies but hates insects. Her teacher Ms. Tsui squashes a huge, ugly bug on her desk one day, and then turns into a raving loony who bites the finger off a policeman. After Ms. Tsui is sent to the insane asylum, the doctors keep Tintin under surveillance in an attempt to ascertain what pushed her teacher over the edge. Instead they discover they have a troublesome urchin on their hands who can pout endlessly, give dangerously dirty looks, and levitate balls with the power of her mind. For those suffering from short-term pop culture memory, tamagotchis were hand-held electronic 'pets' that were all the rage in the elementary school set during the late 1990s. Quite what they have to do with this Firestarter ripoff isn't exactly clear! Tamagotchi is commercially available as a cheap and nasty double VCD with poorly translated, hard to read subtitles and absolutely dreadful sound: most of the film's dialogue seems to have been double-tracked. The film isn't very good, but it surely deserves a better home video release.
