Even at the time, the plot is formulaic, the film starts with romance and comedy which becomes stale after sometime. When the real plot is set in motion, the film started to get interesting but by the time it reaches the climax, it has already wears me out. The film dragged on and on with overly dramatic scenes and the last 30min could've easily been shortened but the director decided to make it too prolonged.
Logic is thrown out of the window whilst making this movie, like the mother carries a bomb denotator with her like it's some kitchen untensil? bad guy is so paranoid that he wears a bullet proof vest whenever he goes out? and she shoots him while wearing bullet proof vest but he didn't even FLINCHED, like what?? and couldn't she shoot him in the face??? haha. Hero getting hit by a car and thrown in the air but five seconds later he's back into that particular car??? and it's always lighting and thunder even though there's no sign of rain?? I understand that these types of nineties films aren't supposed to be realistic but come on! this is just too much to handle.
The editing is also atrocious, had this film been trimmed well, it'd have a much better impact on the viewer. And the transition of one scene to other is not smooth and at times the scenes are cut off even before ending.
The music placement is horrendous, they come in unannounced at times, and they very much sound the same. But the sceneries of the locations and choreography are beautiful to look at. The background score is not that bad either, it enhances some of the scene but the problem is that it never stop playing, even for the scenes that don't need it.
The acting is good, Akshay Kumar carries the movie nicely, he's energetic during action sequences and conveyed the right emotions during tender moments. Amrish Puri is good as the mother. is typecasted of course! and he killed it. the rest are good
All in all, A flaw movie that has little to offer in terms of story, and characterization but does have a good entertainment value.
