Cute, well made and with a sweet sense of humor

While this is a short film of only 18 minutes, it seems more like a movie than most shorts. Part of this is because it's a reasonably complex film with lots of excellent action and dialog and because it's so darn watchable.

Poor little Stuart Warren is miserable. His father, a little league coach, insists that he wants his youngest son to play on his team--though nerdy Stuart would much rather play the piano. This isn't just because he's nonathletic, but also because his evil and sadistic older brother also plays on the team and will make Stuart's life miserable. The dad tries a little too hard to make Stuart a ball player, but he's not a one-dimensional jerk either.

What I really liked about the film was its gentle sense of humor. It is filled with cute little vignettes and is handled with a nice delicate touch. A great little film about America's pastime and one worth seeing.
