Say what you want but the original manga won an award!

This is my 7,5/10 mangaupdates review for the manga of which this is an adaptation. The anime is based on the first 40% of that series btw. This manga is directly comparable to the first few South Park seasons before that show turned into biting satire and a masterpiece. The author also changed after he moved on but not for the better as this remains his best work with "Wanitokagegisu" (8/10). I also turn to America and Europe for (sex) comedy's but this one succeeds as it puts black/toiled humor first and titillation second. The humor will probably turn off the general audiences and the quirky art won't help but the first half (basically the amine) can be true comedy gold. Some of the rape jokes overreach, the story goes on too long and does not quite finish (hehe) but that part should get a translation too as it is still interesting. I don't get why the author decide to set this at a middle school or why the (surprisingly functioning ) romances aren't resolved but readable ecchi is rare so i will crown it the as maybe not as the king but certainly as the jester in the land of the blind. "Genshiken" (8/10) mentions the manga btw. and the also reviewed "Love in Hell" and "The Penisman" by ISHIDA Sui should be your next destination.

Incredibly funny

Ranking your favorite comedy is like picking a favorite child - different jokes are funny for different reasons, they're all cute and smart in their own way... But sometimes one bulb burns brighter than the rest and you kind of feel like bragging.

Ping Pong Club is about the stupid escapades of a gang of boys and one girl, who are supposedly training to play Ping Pong competitively, yet less than 1% of the show is devoted to Ping Pong. The rest is dirty, crazy nonsense, that's brilliant and juvenile at the same time.

People usually compare this to South Park, perhaps in an effort to market something unknown to Western audiences, but a much closer comparison would be Cromartie High School, which is another brilliant show that you should watch. The very fact that you've stumbled upon this page, and not something more mainstream, means that you're probably rummaging for gems. Well, you may have just found one.

brilliant- Japanese humour at its best

This animated comedy series which never made its way over to North America is superb. The plot revolves around five teenagers whom are part of a ping-pong club and their daily antics which always backfire. Always scheming to seduce women, these kids come up with the most impractical and funniest situations which always end in disaster. A personal favorite of mine has to be the American student, CAN YOU SAY STERYOTYPE? This character is not only burly, stupid and hairy, he has a lethal stench emitting from his armpits and an outie belly button which looks more like a giant d**k. Overall, this show is ingenious and always a pleasure to watch. If you're a fan of South Park or enjoy crude Japanese humour, you won't be disappointed.
