Note: this review is for the sega genesis/Mega drive version of the game.
I remember seeing this game on a Sega genesis list of games, and figured "God, that Virtua racing game must be awesome" and guess what? it was. but unfortunately, with such awesome graphics, one thing needed to be downgraded...size. there's only 3 tracks to race in the game and one car to drive. not much can be changed, except for difficulty, automatic or manual and the amount of laps you race (however, the amount of laps you race only works for free run and 2 player mode, i think)
there's no story, but there doesn't need to be.
This right here is a straight up, 3d racing game. the music is really awesome, the sound effects a little bit off, the voices compressed, and the graphics, good.
I managed to buy this at a value village for 5 bucks. compared to buying it at 90 pounds brand new from Europe (which would equal up to 175 dollars U.S. nowadays) I think i got a good deal.
7/10
