Almost-Human6 August 2005
Unusual film inspired by the works of George Melies, the early film and special effects pioneer. This piece really captures the time and the feel of the great man's works.

G.M. has a dream to nightmare feel. The whole thing is done silently and the acting is very graceful and subtly stylized. As The Man, Neil Edmond displays a wide range of emotion and The Girl as played by Leslie Cummins does an interesting job of showing an alien being trying to imitate human emotions and behaviour. Rounding out the leads is Isabel Rocamora, who does a lovely turn as the harried house keeper.

The image of the blue lit people standing in stasis inside the walls is haunting. G. Melies would be proud.
