I have only seen this film in a Pathé-Baby version but at twenty odd minutes it must be more or less complete.
It begins like a classic old-fashioned chase film in which Buster and Tige wreak havoc aboard their pedal car. Sent to lead the pursuers away, Tige finds a "His Master's Voice" toy dog in front of a phonograph loudspeaker and cunningly takes its place. Uphill, Tige has to push the car and, when they crash into Mary Jane's pram, it is he who "rescues" the baby (a doll) which does not prevent the said Mary Jane from giving vent to her displeasure, so Tige decides to teach her a lesson by ripping off her dress!
Buster is now distracted by thoughts of Mary Jane and more havoc ensues (in "ghost ride" style). Buster gets splashed with spots of red paint. Meanwhile his mother reads in the paper of an epidemic of chicken pox..and Tige has to help Buster escape the consequences so he can go courting Mary Jane (Tige steals him a bouquet)...only to find that she has another (bespectacled) beau. Carried off to the rooftops by a crane (this was the period when such scenes were virtually obligatory even for dogs and little boys), they engage in the standard giddy antics at the expense of an irate construction worker until Buster devises an ingenious method of escape.
The imperturbable Tige (Pal/Pete the Dog from Our Gang) is very much the star of the film but the kids (Arthur Trimble and Doreen Turner) do a pretty good job too. The coy pseudo-adult humour is in rather doubtful taste.
