History is finally told as the way it really was.

The literal translation of the title of the movie is: Special Era.

Chinese Communist Part (CCP) leader in 1920's persecuted Mao and Mao's followers and when the revolution failed in 1927, everybody who was not persecuted was blamed, so every media acted this way and this trend continued all the way until end of the Cultural Revolution, long after the establishment of the People's Republic.

Finally, in the era of reform, those non-Maoist revolutionaries are viewed as people instead of villains and their stories were told as the way they were and history was faced honestly, this film is one of such result.
