Recently, I rediscovered this Making of video on one of my old VHS tapes. Although it has been made some time ago, I still enjoy this feature very much. Nowadays, it seems that a "behind the scenes" feature consists of actors and crew saying how much they enjoyed working together (even if they did not). This one however, shows how much of the effects were made (without to much CGI). The voice-over of Mr. Sheen is excellent and never boring or annoying. If you have not seen the movie Congo, I still think you will enjoy watching this if you like special effects and to see how much effort goes into making a movie.

Good making-of feature
Mandemus3 October 2003
This short film seems to have had a limited availability, but is well worth seeing if you get a chance. It is as good a "making-of" kind of documentary as I have seen, replete with scenes on special effects and cast and production interviews. Congo the movie gets a bad rap, and certainly did not live up to expectations that it would be the next "King Kong". But it was a reasonably well-done creature story, and this production documentary is a good partner to it.
It is a shame that Paramount did not include this short feature as an extra on the dvd release of Congo. Where else should you be able to find it, if not in the dvd package?
