very funny, very dark

This was very funny. The writing was crisp, and the acting was over the top. What a slightly savage viewpoint the author has. I can't wait to see the next script she turns out. Shira and Jason had good rapport--you could almost fee the ice between them. I loved the back and forth between them in the boardroom. I also especially loved Harold, with his droll take on work and his attempts to retire. The plot movement was fluid, so that when Shira picked the cat up and through it into to well to "make news" I burst out laughing. How well that parallels what I sometimes perceive is the real newsroom. I'd love to see this expanded even further.

Tasteless and Offensive

Since when is it funny or comical or even entertaining to drop a living thing into a well from which there is no escape and it will die? What kind of person would consider this funny or any sort of entertainment? Would it be just as funny if it were a dog? Would the title be considered funny if it was called 'Smash the Puppy'? How is this funny and what kind of person would watch this? Just another example of the prejudicial feelings people have against cats. Would it be as hilarious if she dropped a puppy down the well instead? Shame on the people who wrote this and the actors and actresses who did this. What if someone made a short movie about dropping their pets down a well? Shame on all of you.
