An early CGI animated short from the late 80s.
Very strange and surreal, it almost seems like a direct precedent of stuff like Xavier: Renegade Angel, featuring two humanoid figures sittting at the top of a pyramid, with one of them chasing a butterfly, and falling, before turning into another butterfly.
Or at least, that's what I assume, since at first glance, the falling humanoid seems to be transforming into something else.
Also, the only line of spoken dialogue it's almost completely unintelligible due the background music.
For its time it was a rather impressive feat, and disregard of the very dated CGI, I still appreciate its artistic ambition, akin to a surrealistic painting in animated form.
Makes me wonder what kind of stuff Matt Elson would have done with more mordern technology.
