Very good idea, really poorly executed! Writing is ridiculous

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER! This one is on Youtube, so my advice is to take the 25 minutes and watch the movie before you read on.

Tishler plays Haley, a little six year old girl who lives with her mother. Her father is never in the picture and she has an older sister who is at boarding school or lives on campus at some college. Shortly before her sister comes home (for the holidays?) Haley seems to have developed a new invisible friend, Ms Goldman. Or .... is she 'possessed'??

It was cool to see a six year old with a gun, with a big gun, but at the same time this is the biggest "suspend your believes" of the film. How can a tiny, 50 pound kid hope to shoot a big gun and not get struck by the recoil? That makes no sense.

Okay so, especially the ending is the weakest part of the film, writing wise: Presumably you're a criminal, robbing an office, looking for valuables. In comes a little girl who shoots and kills your partner with a gun, a big gun, mind you. You then hear someone approaching and the first thing you ask them if she's "looking for her daughter"? Preposterous!!! That made no sense whatsoever!

And also, WHY oh WHY, would he wanna hide that his partner is dead, by pretending to talk to his dead partner in front of the mom? If the girl killed his partner he must've assumed the mother is in on it! So why keep up the pretense that his partner is not dead, and that the girl is a kid? Also, that Jen the big sister, let her mother go after the kid, while there's clearly something VERY wrong with her, could've been, SHOULD'VE been better motivated! Bad writing all around ...

The acting by Tishler is excellent. Especially when you've seen this directors' other movie, Freaky Faron, you'll appreciate her skills even more, since the kids in THAT movie are not really good actresses AT ALL.

The Melancholic Alcoholic.
