The opening scenes, picturing the quarrel between father and son, are natural and convincing, but the latter scenes do not hold up in interest. The recognition scene, toward the close, was not sufficiently dramatic and lacked real feeling. This makes only a fair offering. - The Moving Picture World, April 3, 1915
