Great making-of documentary
Catherine_Grace_Zeh24 November 2007
I love this kind of documentary. This is because it's always fun to watch the cast and crew talk about their experiences filming a particular movie and working with their co-stars as well as the crew of that particular movie. In addition, it's also fun to see what happened behind the scenes during the filming of a particular movie, such as takes or bloopers. Anytime I watch a DVD or special edition VHS, I always look forward to seeing the documentaries afterward, that is, if there are any on it. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that this was a great making-of documentary. In conclusion, I hope you enjoy this making-of documentary.

'Your typical' making of making-of featurette
jellyneckr23 June 2005
BAD SANTA was a big hit for Dimension Films so one would expect that when the DVD was released, it would have been full with special features. Sadly, that was not the case. The only special features to be found on the DVD for BAD SANTA are a few brief deleted scenes, some outtakes, and this so-so making-of featurette. I dug the title, but the featurette itself left me wanting more. BAD SANTA: NOT YOUR TYPICAL Christmas MOVIE only runs nine minutes long. I like featurettes to be a bit longer than ten minutes. In those nine minutes, we learn a bit about the genesis of the story and details into casting, but other than that, there isn't a whole lot of information into the production of the movie. The majority of the running time consists of cast and crew members talking about how wonderful so and so was and what I joy working on the film was. In other words, it's 'your typical' making-of featurette. I would have preffered I much longer, more detailed documentary into the making of BAD SANTA since there's really nothing like it. It's an instant Christmas classic.

bad santa excellent

hey the film is great ,billy bob thornton is great ,i really laughed during all the movie projection. maybe the humor is a bit too much for some people but if you liked al bundy in married with children and those kind of stuff you are going to love it.I think some people went to see this movie expecting to see some nice Christmas movie for the family and they were wrong , it's surely not the Christmas movie to go and see with your family but for people that have no limits in humor they will adore it ,i would put an 8 but since most people criticized it so badly and vote so bad for it i wanted to help the bad santa get some more points .

You'll never let your kid sit on Santa's lap again

Warning: Spoilers
Real dark horse comedy. BBThorton is a jewel in this movie, playing a low life criminal who unfortunately is aware enough to realize that he's nothing but a loser and that's the best he's ever going to be. He uses his job as a department store Christmas Santa to rip off his employer, then moves on. His gig involves a midget partner in crime, who constantly berates him about his drinking, his sexual proclivities, and his general s****y cynical attitude. Language so coarse that it would make a sailor blush, but somehow, it works well in this movie. His lucky day comes when he meets up with what he initially determines to be an easy mark, moving in with a rich kid who's dad is in jail...

I give it an 8 out of 10, just for the language alone
