A criminally underrated masterpiece!

Warning: Spoilers
It's extremely sad how this game gets overlooked, because this game is absolutely fantastic. The cutscenes are hilarious fun to watch, the visuals are lively, vibrant, and crisp, the soundtrack is some of the funkiest you will ever hear in a video game, the gameplay is challenging, yet easy to understand and a lot of fun. It's especially fun at it's most difficult setting. There's a lot of replay value to this game, unlocking different colored hats, increasing the difficulty, the record shop, and the many different verses during a regular stage. The multiplayer mode is also a fun time, about as fun as Um Jammer Lammy's multiplayer mode, although it's only limited to Versus mode, with P2 playing as the teacher of that stage. The multiplayer mode is essentially a rap battle type of mode. Very fitting, since rap battles are a real event. What I really love is the improved input icon timing, now it marks the moment you press a button, while showing transparent marks already inputted by the teacher, to make the game easier for beginners, speaking of which, in between every cutscene, except for stage 8, Boxxy Boy will show up to let you practice a little bit, it's redundant, but fortunately, it's skippable. That's probably the only minor problem I have, the practice mode could've easily been it's own separate option, but as long as there's a way to skip it, I'm okay with it. Another cool thing about this game, and the entire series, is when you're performance is bad, the rank meter will go down to BAD or AWFUL, while the music and the environment change, it's really cool to see this feature in a rhythm game, and it makes failing the stage just that more charming, rather than giving you a miserable feeling.

I love this game so much, It makes me sad that it gets overlooked, it doesn't even have a portable release on the Vita, Luckily, it's available on PS4, and if you haven't played this game, then get it right now! It'll definitely be worth your time. I've said that this is my favorite game of all-time, and I'll still call it my favorite game today!
