First off, I would just like to apologize to the cast and crew of this film for anything I say that may offend you or even hurt, but I have to let people know.
This film is an extremely low budget feature set in a restaurant in Los Angeles, filled with service staff all attempting to "make it." It is not only written by but also directed and starring Derik Wingo as Taylor, a bitter waiter. This film was pretty much unwatchable to me. Sorry. The problem with it for me is at this budget level, it wouldn't be able to compete with films like "Waiting" or "Slammin Salmon." It also is very on the same track as "Party Down" but there is no production value. There are scenes where literally no one is in the restaurant except for the conflicting customers. Amongst way too much information and dialogue, the only tiny tidbit that you may carry on with you is a moment of reflection Taylor has when he discusses what happens after you get success. He then explains all of the drama and interesting things that could have happened in dialogue. Thanks for telling me what happens in a movie where you could have much more cinematically just shown the audience. The ending is extremely obvious and just fades to black as one of the only moments of the film is about to happen. Do yourself a favor and don't watch this. Freshmen film student shorts are up to par with the quality of this film. "Waiting," "Still Waiting," "Slammin' Salmon," or "Party Down," are all well produced ideas of what this film failed to do. They are all exponentially better to watch than "The Waiters." Sorry again to the cast and crew, don't know your circumstances but the film is what it is.
