A Horatio Alger Sort Of Story
boblipton13 February 2021
Jimmy decides to leave the farm and get a job in the big city. He gets one as a bank messenger.

It's an ordinary, unornamented tale. What makes it of some interest is this is one of Hal Roach's Dippy Doo Dads, a movie in which all the roles are taken by animals. Here, almost all of them are monkeys, with a couple of hats pulling a plow, and a bull dog with a derby a bank guard. That's the gimmick, and almost it's only virtue, with its simple bit of Victorian melodrama.
