Banned from Television II is the second volume in the Banned From Television trilogy that again features footage of variable quality captured by news crews, CCTV cameras & amateur home video camcorder stuff of various accidents, stunts gone wrong, high speed chases with tragic ends, disaster footage of fires, a few suicides & a real life 'celebrity' sex tape of American skater Tonya Harding & her bloke most of which is narrated describing basic events.
You know I watched the original Banned From Television (1998) just two days ago & after watching Banned From Television II I feel cheated. I feel ripped-off. I feel taken advantage of. I want my money back. Now. You see Banned From Television II lasts for 41 odd minutes with probably 37 of those minutes merely repeated footage from the original. Banned From Television II is almost like a Banned From Television highlights package, I can't believe almost all of the footage here is simply lifted from the original. I know, I only saw the original two days ago. The one original sequence here is the real life sex tape footage of ice skater Tonya Harding & some bloke & that's it. One of my criticisms of the original was the amount of excess footage which is addressed here & a lot of the sequences are edited down & tightened up although that leaves the original narration often clipped as it will start or finish mid-sentence! If you have never seen the original Banned From television then this might be alright but if you have seen or own the original then this is a complete waste of time & a total rip-off as it's just the same exact footage in a different order & slightly edited down, the real life sex tape does not make this worth watching at all. I don't know how the makers of this had the nerve to release it, couldn't they find any new footage or what?
Banned From Television II is basically the same as the original, literally & thematically. Leave this one well alone, a lot of the footage is quite tame anyway & some of the gorier bits the original have been dropped. Talk about money for old rope. Followed by a third & as yet final installment Banned From Television III (1998).
