This French show was part game show, part talent show, and part comedy. Host Marie-Ange Nardi would introduce six panelists to the three contestants, who were seated on brightly colored, toiletlike chairs. Each panelist would have a unique occupation, hobby or special interest, but it would be up to the contestants to figure out which pastime belonged to which panelist. (Examples: "Obstetrician," "Elvis Presley fan," "Stripper," "Raises spiders," "Fluent in Japanese," and "Gymnast."
During the first part of the show, contestants would ask questions (chosen by the show) of whichever panelist they wished, to try to figure out who specialized in what. An example might be: "Where was Elvis Presley born?" During this round, one of the contestants was eliminated.
The remaining two contestants then participated in "les défis" ("the challenges." A contestant would choose one of the panelists to role play, or demonstrate his prowess, in a particular specialty (or fake prowess, if it wasn't his specialty), often with hilarious results.
The winner in that round went on to the final round-----matching the panelist to the pastime. The most common top prize seemed to be a free week long vacation in Turkey; other prizes were gift certificates to JouéClub toy stores, and spa packages.
On hand for the role playing segment of the show were a troupe of improvisational actors, among them Pepita, Guy and Cathy. Pepita, a vivacious and very funny young black woman, role played everything from the Empress Sissi of Austria to dominatrices in outrageously glittery costumes, and stole the show almost every time. Guy and Cathy?---Hit and miss....mostly missed.
Altogether, a very lightweight but entertaining show.
