"Bang" is a 10-minute animated short film from almost 30 years ago. The director is Robert Breer, one of America's most influential short film directors in the second half of the 21st century. And if somebody gets awarded with a lifetime achievement award that has the name Maya Deren in it, that already explains it all basically. "Bang!" is certainly something you could call an experimental movie and I guess that also applies for many of the filmmakers other movies. There is no real congruent plot or something remotely similar in this one here. The images we are presented rarely have an obvious connection with one another and it ranges from dwarfs to Hitler. The audio is not really consistent either. We hear the American anthem or we just hear people's noises in general. I did not really enjoy this short film. Then again, experimental films are not exactly my preferred choice. Thumbs down.
