The Biter Bit
boblipton13 May 2021
When Margaret Fischer decides to go to a whist party without husband Harry Pollar, he's miffed. He decides to play a joke on her: he has a friend come over, tie him up, and when Miss Fischer returns home, she will find her jewelry stolen. There are only two flaws to this scheme: the friend's wife informs Miss Fischer, and a burglar breaks in and discovering Pollard tied up, starts to steal everything.

It's a nice set-up, even though there's little in the movie that is more than a joke gone wrong. Pollard not only starred, he directe,d and moved increasingly behind the camera i a directing career than extended into the 1930s.

The plot is well constructed

A lively farce that will be found freshly entertaining and good amusement. The plot is well constructed and does not depend on rough business, but on the fun in its one laughable situation. Marguerita Fisher and Harry Pollard play the leads. A good offering. - The Moving Picture World, July 25, 1914
