Roger Smith is working on a case to find the loot from a robbery some ten years earlier where Richard Carlyle was arrested and served his time and was just released. But the money some $85,000.00 is still out there.
Carlyle is clever in some ways and has a genius for losing those who tail him as Kookie and Roscoe can testify. But he's this mild mannered inoffensive little schnook of a human being. Jeff Spencer just can't wrap his mind around the concept he's a criminal mastermind.
A nice cast that includes Rochelle Hudson, Victor Buono and Robert Foulk are in this story. They are regulars at a bar that Carlyle is known to frequent and are part of the story as well.
