Nothing really new here. A friend of Stu's from the army, who has the nickname Foghorn, is now a minister in a tough neighborhood. Having saved Stu's life he uses that to extract a favor. If he can just turn one kid around . . .you know the plot. Stu, Kookie, J.R. Hale—all work hard to turn the kid around. Speed even reconciles with his long absent sister, Mary. His gangster brother Nate Minton draws Speed into a jewel theft. Speed helps but has second thoughts, he likes his new friends and backs out on the deal. Stu believes in Speed who shows he has turned his life around. All's well and it ends well.
If anything, I am watching way too much MeTV, H&I, and Cozi as I am starting to recognize guest stars from long past decades. In this case it's Kathie Brown (Mary Minton) who I recall from Have Gun, Will Travel and Star Trek. And David Winters (Speed) from West Side Story. Turns out Kathie Brown was married to Darren McGavin; and David Winters had a rather amazing career.
