A bad time for Archie
stones7822 May 2015
This fun episode has Archie bragging that he just bought a $300 Omega watch for just $25, and proud of himself for getting such a great deal. After he tells Mike that he bought the watch from a guy on the docks, who also used to be in prison, Mike immediately gets suspicious, mainly because that place is famous for being a "grab bag", and that goods have a way of disappearing there. A scene or 2 later, while at dinner, the watch makes a funny noise, then basically goes dead. Archie then proceeds to blame Edith for him having to hit the ketchup bottle too hard, because she didn't loosen the ketchup. How does one loosen ketchup? There's a funny scene with Lionel, who I was never a big fan of, but Archie puts his foot in his mouth big time. Let me mention that this is one of the final appearances of Jack Tesler(Mr. Abrams), who would pass away just a few years later, and he tells Archie that the watch isn't an Omega, but an "Onega", and that Archie was a victim of a huge counterfeit racket. The show ends with Archie's poor attempt at math, perhaps because he's in denial that he just got taken advantage of.

It's an "N".

Warning: Spoilers
When Archie finds out the watch is broke and possibly hot the laughs are some of the series biggest. Earlier, Archie explains why he's not prejudice against white people. Wonderful scenes with CC & Mike Evans. Also hilarious when Archie sends Mike to pickup the watch. Then, the classic it's an "N" scene. Definitely in my top 5 AITF episodes.
