A bunch of interesting twists that catch you by surprise.

When the episode begins, Lisa and Todd are interrupted in her apartment by Harold, Lisa's estranged husband. Harold announces he's going to kill them both...and draws a gun. Todd jumps him and there's a scuffle and Harold is shot. Lisa and Todd then decide to dispose of Harold's body without calling the police....which, if you think about it, is pretty dumb.

This episode features more interesting and unsuspected twists than usual and it made for a very good episode. Not always logical...but very good. Well worth seeing.

A MARRIAGE THAT NEEDS CONSOLING!

Perfect title for this super drama, all about a polygamist for a change of pace. Lovely Jo Ann Harris (as Lisa) is spot on in her role, once again playing the femme fatal, accent the fatal conseqeunces when she's involved in the murder of her husband.

But! There is so much more to this story, which you have to watch carefully. Lots of moving parts.

Popular actor Stephen Collins plays Todd, Lisa's new guy pal. Peggy McCay has a very good role as the "adult" in this story, best known for her many years on DAYS OF OUR LIVES. She was a regular on many top tv shows at Warner Brothers in the 50s and 60s.

Acclaimed screenwriter Robert Pirosh wrote this episode, and did a fine job with these characters. He did many episodes for MANNIX and is best known for the classic movie, I MARRIED A WITCH, starring Veronica Lake, which (to a degree) may have inspired BEWITCHED.

There is one goof, and I agree with the notes. Barnaby shows a man a picture of Lisa, which actually looks like a glossy actors photo of Jo Ann Harris! Not the type of picture a detective would be carrying around.

Catch Billy Benedict, one of the BOWERY BOYS, playing a guy named Vincent. Billy was always used by casting directors. They loved him.

In the southern California real estate department; partly filmed at the famous Gulls Estate at Malibu, which today is valued at over 20 million dollars --but has only two bedrooms!!!!

Nicely done. SEASON 4 EPISODE 13 remastered CBS dvd box set.

This episode begins like a typical "Barnaby Jones" plot, with illicit lovers (Stephen Collins, Jo Ann Harris) caught in the act by her gun-wavong husband, and Collins trapping himself by struggling for the gun and accidentally shooting his attacker. And, this time, hiding the body mote cleverly than usual.

From there it becomes a bumpy road full of genuinely surprising twists and turns. The only person who seems to know what's going on is Jones. Why?

The music in this episode takes on a comic turn, so I don't know if it's meant to be lighthearted. Overall, though, it's a different sort of ride.
