The Perfect Revenge Story
Ispystuff11 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The theme of using magic to eliminate rivals and villains is a fixture in the Bewitched series. But few episodes set up the villain to be as deserving as Sheila Somers, the beautiful ex-fiance of Darren. Snob in the Grass is a reboot of the B-Plot of the Pilot episode in which Darren's former fiance plots to embarrass Samantha in a party setting. Sheila's plan is right out of the standard playbook for Snobs: Control the topics of conversation to subjects that make Samantha look uninformed. Look more fashionable, Look more beautiful, and throw some sneaky shade. The acting job by Nancy Kovack as Sheila is positively, perfectly, condescending, confident, self centered, and chock full of backhanded jabs. She flirts shamelessly with Darren and pulled out the stops in the beauty department from her figure displaying fitted capris and sleeveless knit top to her Cleopatra eye make up and perfect raven haired flip. As the Sheila's plan unfolds, it's clear Samantha has been set up to fail. Even the heartless Larry Tate has trouble stomaching the awkwardness and gives Samantha a sympathetic look. What's a gal to do? And herein lies the attraction of the whole magic genre in the first place. Sheila's real power is the rule of consequences. Samantha is not going to take direct action because there would be consequences to her husband and her reputation. But with a twitch of the nose you can make anything look like an accident, completely untraceable back to her. Hmmm is that wig Sheila's wearing? I wonder how cool and condescending she be if it "accidentally" came off? "I won't" "I won't" "Maybe I will..." A Bee, A Butler, A great Dane, and Garden hose later Sheila's had a disastrous night, and Samantha the last woman standing. When you get to the end of this episode you are gritting your teeth and demanding justice. And this episode delivers in a big comically satisfying way. It's an artifice-exposed classic.

snob in the grass is cool

i have seen this episode of bewitched and it is one of my favorites.the reason why is because of an eye opening scene near the end.sam and darrin are invited by sam's enemy sheila to a barbecue dinner at sheila's.now i have to say sheila is a major babe.but anyway, the very shapely brunette sheila begins to get on sam's nerves by giving her micro insults.sam gets fed up and uses her magic first by causing sheila's dog to jump on her with muddy paws, then makes a bee land on sheila's nose.then sam uses her magic to make sheila spin around and around relentlessly and mercilessly, while she's spinning sheila's tight top that she's wearing begins to unravel from the bottom up,until her bra is showing. humiliated,in tears and still spinning without mercy, sam causes her pearls to fall off.she waits till she bends over then sam uses her magic yet again and splits the back of her tight capri pants, then unzips her zipper on her pants revealing her panties.sheila tries to cover herself saying,"help me somebody help me please" darrin comments afterwards that sheila got what she deserved. thinking back on this episode i'm amazed that the censors let this one through, although now it's considered a bewitched classic and if were done today would be nothing. so on that one forced strip scene alone i recommend, this one is a keeper.
