Scheme to defraud
bkoganbing8 December 2015
Movie veteran Charlie Ruggles plays an old southern plantation owner from the Bluegrass state of Kentucky where they're known for raising thoroughbred racing horses. He's an old friend of the Cartwrights and he and daughter have arrived in Virginia City to do some racing. Racing against a horse Michael Landon has been training.

What Lorne Greene and the rest don't know is that Ruggles and his daughter are now just part and parcel of a conman's scheme to defraud the good citizens of the area. As the Cartwrights have the most money in the area, they're the number one target. Skip Homeier is in charge of the scheme to defraud. What the scheme is you have to watch the episode for. I will say that someone that is as crafty as Homeier is made out to be would have thought of something a little more subtle.

Still both Ruggles and Homeier turn in some good work in this Bonanza story.
