Rupert Crosse who received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for The Reivers
guest stars as a former slave who kills his former master in a small town saloon
and then goes on the run. Lorne Greene and Michael Landon track Crosse to the desert and all get attacked by Indians. Ben is wounded and guarding the prisoner
and Little Joe goes for help on foot across the desert.
