Checkmate is hired by Les Tremayne to guard the body of his prize photo journalist Claire Bloom and he says to start tomorrow. But it's already too late because as he's talking terms with Anthony George, Bloom is blinded like columnist Victor Reisel with acid. Someone wants those pictures she's taken real bad, but which pictures are they?

William Windom works for the man who does want whatever incriminating photographs there are. He pretends to be a doctor offering a promise of cure when her own doctors tell her that this is it and she has to adjust to her blindness.

Claire Bloom strikes all the right emotional notes of anger and frustration and despair in her performance. Windom plays her like a piccolo.

Bloom and Windom make this episode special.
