An espionage episode with more than its share of twists and turns.

"Deadly Reunion" is a very good installment of "The F.B.I."...as are most episodes about spies. However, be forewarned that it has far more twists and turns than a usual episode..such that it really surprises you how often these twists occur.

The episode begins with the F.B.I. staking out an apartment complex. It seems that they are observing the second in command in a spy ring. However, before they can move in, another enemy agent tries to kill the spy...and ends up instead shooting the man's nephew. Well, this MIGHT be because the spy is planning on defecting and so Erskine agrees to go behind the Iron Curtain and play the part the nephew was supposed to play...to sneak the wife of the #1 spy out of East Germany so he can defect as well. Confusing, huh?

One part of the episode didn't ring true, though it's hardly like I am an expert on the F.B.I.. This is when Erskine goes undercover and travels to East Germany. I thought this was the domain of the CIA or perhaps State Department and the F.B.I. was only about domestic issues and such foreign missions are simply not in their jurisdiction. Regardless, the show is exciting ad different....and that worked for me.
