Mr French back in England
gregorycanfield1 October 2021
Ida Lupino as Lady Marchwood. Turns out that she is an old flame of Mr French's. She was Maudie Wiggins before she became so important. As Lady Marchwood, she offers French an executive position in her domain. We soon discover where Mr French's loyalties are. I have always found Ida Lupino underwhelming. This episode is no exception. Lupino actually was from England, but this was the first time that I heard her speak with an English accent. She didn't even do that particularly well. She sounded like an American trying to fake an English accent. Overall, a passable episode.

Bill is offered a job by an Lady Marchwood, an English noblewoman but she insists that he bring French with him.

A fair episode, gives us more clues to French's past. Lady Marchwood (Lupino) turns out to be old girl friend of French's, Maudie Wiggins. She proposes to French and offers him an executive position with her company. Bill pressures him to accept but French is not so sure. An interesting scene has French walking through the manor as we hear his thoughts. We don't see Buffy with crutches in this episode, though her legs are blocked by objects so she may still have had her cast on the broken leg.
