Family Matters is of course a family sitcom so it is usually a combination between funny and life lessons for kids. It usually fails when it is all about morals while fun doesn't work out. And this is one of those episodes. We mainly get to see how bad it is to gamble and also how great it can be to read books to not get Ds in English but there are pretty much no outrageously funny jokes in this episode that I can think of.
The ending is also a bit cheesy, a cop comes and wins pool with his old mom because the guys don't want to go to jail. I would look over it of course if it was done funnily, but again, no actual jokes to laugh about.
I would rather prefer to see an episode about Urkel and Eddie being best buddies for a week visiting the Cheese factory.
