It Didn't Happen One Night (#5.2)

Warning: Spoilers
Laura oversleeps the bus to the cheer leading competition and Urkel is nice enough to drive her all the way to Cincinnati, they also stay over night in the motel.

It is a pretty great episode. There is a lot of physical comedy when Urkel tries to sleep on the small bad and he looks silly and adorable in Laura's sleeping clothes. And it is great to see Steve stand up for himself! And they made a great use of lightning in this episode, both times it strikes in a perfect moment!

Carl and Harriet's story is a bit cheesy, I kind of agree with Carl on what he first said about PDA

"I'm a person!"

Warning: Spoilers
This second outing in the show's fifth season has two storylines: We see Laura oversleeping a cheerleading competition in another state and has to accept Steve's ride. Meanwhile Carl and Harriet have Estelle and Fletcher over for dinner. I really enjoyed this episode, first of all it was great to have Estelle and Fletcher again, I was sure that they would drop that storyline like she never had any wedding, but gladly I was wrong, great chemistry from both of them, I was glad the entire episode didn't revolve around Harriet complaining about Carl never sharing his love for her with anyone else, it was a build up and a very quick and sweet scene between both of them ending with the always snarky remark from Harriet "Carl Winslow has to go to bed now" . While I appreciated that storyline of course the one that pumps this episode to be one of my personal favorites is everyhing about Steve and Laura situation, with the pinacle being he demanding to be treated with respect when Laura suggests she should sleep in the bed while he slept on the floor, while he pratically paid everything, and he didn't really needed to be there. The ending was funny, and was well executed. 9/10 ********* Peter Shelby

Steve puts Laura in her place

Warning: Spoilers
The audience cheers after Steve demands "to be treated with respect and dignity." He looks particularly ridiculous in Laura's sleepwear. A great scene, but he should have also asked her: "Why are you with me?" That would have been a good question. Laura contradicts herself every step of the way. She lets Steve drive her to another state; she goes into a motel room with him; she finally lets him hop into the same bed with her! Am I the only one who thinks she loves Steve as much as he loves her? Another point: Laura never closes her robe while they're in the motel room. Why was she wearing it at all? Steve saw as much as he would have if she had left the robe off. I love it! I loved everything that was Steve and Laura.
